The 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference, more commonly referred to as COP28, was held from 30 November until 12 December 2023 at Expo City, Dubai. Cascades Inc., a leader in the recovery and manufacturing of eco-friendly packaging and hygiene products, announced that Alain Lemaire will step down from his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Company's annual general meeting, to be held in May 2024, and that Patrick Lemaire will succeed him. Alain Lemaire will continue to sit on the Board as a director.

On Friday, his business group Royal Golden Eagle (RGE), unveiled an offer to take over Vinda International Holdings by buying shares in the Hong Kong-listed tissue maker at a premium price. Major shareholders of the company, Swedish personal care product maker Essity AB and Vinda's founder Li Chao Wang, who represent about 72.63% combined ownership in the company, have agreed to the offer.
