Andritz has received an order from BillerudKorsnäs to supply a HERB recovery boiler for its mill in Frövi, Sweden. Start-up is scheduled for the end of 2023. The new boiler will replace the existing recovery boiler that has been in operation in Frövi since 1969.

Paper manufacturer Modern Karton has commissioned Voith to build and deliver a high-speed production facility for the production of recovered corrugated containerboard base paper.

Simka Kagit Sanayi VE Ticaret AS, a Turkish manufacturer of various converted paper and paperboard products, has commissioned Voith to supply its OnQuality Quality Control System (QCS) of scanners and sensors to the company's PM 1 in Kayseri, Turkey.

After a complete dryer section rebuild supplied by Toscotec, Cartiera di Ferrara fired up PM1 at its mill in Ferrara, Italy. Toscotec modified the entire dryer section, without changing its overall length and therefore leaving the positions of the press and the pope reel unchanged. This allowed for a very short shutdowntime because civil works were not necessary to achieve the planned production increase. The paper machine achieved stable production immediately after start-up.

Valmet will deliver a new evaporation line 3 for Södra Cell Mönsterås pulp mill in Sweden. The new line will replace the oldest evaporation line 1 at the mill. The new evaporation plant is scheduled to start-up in the 1Q 2023.

Metsä Fibre and Eltel have signed an agreement to build a power line from the new bioproduct mill being constructed in Kemi to the Keminmaa substation via the Pajusaari-Isohaara-Keminmaa route. The new 110 kV power line will be about 15 kilometres long.

Valmet will deliver the world's first artificial intelligence (AI) based Valmet IQ Web Inspection System (WIS) to Progroup's paper machine PM2 in Eisenhüttendstadt, Germany. The new machine vision system targets to increase the containerboard machine speed even further.

Andritz has received an order from UPM to provide industrial maintenance services for its new mill in the city of Paso de los Toros, Uruguay. The mill will have an annual production capacity of 2.1 million tons of bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp when it starts up in the second half of 2022.

Valmet will supply a folding boxboard making line (BM 1), a fine paper making line (PM 3) and a bleached chemi thermo mechanical pulp (BCTMP) production line to Liansheng Pulp & Paper in Zhangzhou, Fujian province, China. The lines will be delivered to a new greenfield mill in Zhangzhou, which will eventually have a total pulp and paper capacity of 3.9 million tonnes annually. The start-ups of BM 1, PM 3 and BCTMP line are scheduled for the 3Q 2022.
