Expected to Achieve Significant Synergies of At Least $514 Million

Nine survivors of a deadly 2017 paper mill explosion in DeRidder, Louisiana have won a record $141 million award for the Middle District of Louisiana in a lawsuit filed after the fatal blast at the Packaging Corporation of America mill.

Two Rivers Lumber Co. LLC plans to invest $115 million to build a state-of-the-art sawmill in Coosa County as the company's second operation in Alabama. Demopolis-based Two Rivers Lumber has committed to creating 130 jobs at the new Alabama sawmill, which will specialize in the production of Southern Yellow Pine dimensional lumber, the Alabama Governor's Office reports.

The Bousbecque plant in the north of France focuses on producing parchment specialty materials. There is overcapacity in parchment and increasing competition. The plant has an annual capacity of approximately 12,000 tons and has 117 employees.

Metsä Group has entered into an extensive cooperation with international technology group ANDRITZ to conduct a pre-study for the first possible commercial mill producing the Kuura textile fiber.
