Start-up is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.

Kadant Noss AB, a subsidiary of Kadant Inc. (NYSE:KAI), announced it successfully started up two approach flow cleaner systems for production of bleached hardwood kraft. The start-up on dissolving pulp is planned for the beginning of 2022. The equipment is part of the Bracell's "STAR" project in Lençóis Paulista, São Paulo located within an Andritz pulp drying approach flow area.

Schumacher Packaging has commissioned Voith to rebuild PM 2 at its Myszków site in Poland. The line is scheduled to start up again in mid-2023 after a short rebuild period.

JK Paper Limited, one of the largest pulp and paper producers in India, selected AFT to supply a POM® approach flow and stock preparation system for their latest packaging board expansion project. PM5 is a 170,000 tpa multi-layer board machine at CPM, Fort Songadh in Gujarat, India. The new machine successfully ran its first paper reel in early September to begin commercial production this quarter.

The target is to modernize and increase the production capacity of the Guaíba pulp mill's line 2 from 1.5 million ADt/y (air dry tonnes per year) to 1.85 million ADt/y. The upgraded mill is expected to start operation in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Start-up is scheduled for the second half of 2024.

Platinum Equity announced it has completed the acquisition of Solenis, a leading global producer of specialty chemicals used in water-intensive industries.

Valmet has signed a new Euro 300 million sustainability-linked syndicated revolving credit facility (RCF) agreement. The new RCF refinances an existing Euro 200 million credit facility and will be used for general corporate purposes.

Valmet will supply a repeat order of an OptiConcept M board production line for Pratt Industries in Henderson, Kentucky, USA.

Andritz has received an order from SCA (Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget) to rebuild a disc filter at their pulp mill in Ortviken, Sundsvall, Sweden.

AFT is pleased to announce the successful start-up of a new POM® approach flow system at Stora Enso Oulu on the recently converted and commissioned board machine 7. The machine is now producing a high quality kraftliner called AvantForte™ by Stora Enso in both brown and white top. The kraftliner product has three layers of fiber to feature the strongest in the Stora Enso kraftliner portfolio, an essential element for e-commerce and food packaging.

International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Volga Pulp and Paper Mill in Balakhna, Nizhnij Novgorod Region, Russia, to supply a new OCC line as well as to convert its PM 6, a newsprint paper machine, to a packaging paper machine. Start-up is scheduled for the spring of 2023.

Andritz has successfully started up a stock preparation system supplied to Vinda Personal Care (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., as part of its tissue production at the mill in Yangjiang, Guangdong, China. With this new line, there are now more than 20 stock preparation systems from Andritz operating in different mills belonging to the Vinda Group.

Valmet will supply a high-capacity OptiWin Pro winder to Norske Skog's Golbey mill in France. The main target of Norske Skog Golbey is to have one winder to handle the 550,000-tonne capacity of the converted high-speed and high-capacity paper machine PM 1, following the paper machine conversion from production of newsprint to production of recycled containerboard.

Valmet will supply a coated board making line and a bleached chemi thermo mechanical pulp (BCTMP) production line with automation solutions, as well as spare parts and consumables packages to one of its customer in Asia. The board making line with high productivity will produce very high-quality folding coated board grades.
