Worker in Kimberly-Clark Arkansas facility tested for coronavirus
Print
LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (From news reports) -- A contractor working at the Kimberly-Clark facility in Conway was tested for coronavirus, it was reported on Tuesday, March 17.

A Kimberly-Clark spokesperson reportedly said the person was not a Kimberly-Clark employee and was checking to see if he could release the name of the company that employs the contractor.

The facility said it will implement enhanced safety measures for the office, mill, and distribution center operations, which were developed in line with guidance from global health authorities.

Kimberly Clark contacted local media after the initial story with an updated statement.

The company's initial statement reportedly said the contractor had received a confirmed diagnosis.

The spokesperson told the paper that there was a misunderstanding because the company that employs the contractor had initially communicated that the diagnosis was confirmed.

Following the reported story, the Arkansas Department of Health contacted Kimberly-Clark to say the test results were still pending.

When reportedly asked about following up when the test results are confirmed, Balluck said he was told by the ADH that "that all COVID-19 test results throughout the state would be reported solely by its office and not individual companies."

The Arkansas Department of Health has not confirmed this case nor any cases in Faulkner County.
