Valmet Initiates Negotiations on Temporary Layoffs in Finland
Comment Print

Valmet has announced that, starting November 10, the company will begin negotiations aimed at implementing temporary layoffs within its Packaging and Paper business area, as well as units within Global Supply in Finland.

The measure is intended to adjust capacity and enhance cost efficiency in response to a weaker market situation.

The negotiations will affect more than 950 employees, mainly in Jyväskylä, Vantaa, and Raisio, with the layoffs expected to take place during the first half of 2026.

Valmet employs approximately 19,000 people worldwide, of whom about 6,000 are based in Finland.
