The Final Word by Jim Thompson

I was once again reminded this past Sunday of what a terrible job our industry has done in public relations.

My wife was asked by a neighborhood Girl Scout Troop to come and make paper. Laura has done this many times; in fact, she has a complete kit made up including an old kitchen blender, wire frames, and an old iron and ironing board. They "make paper" from newsprint and pulp sheets. Laura reported back to me what the girls thought of cutting trees to make paper. Everyone of them said cutting trees to make paper is a very bad thing to do.

Folks, our future survival and success is resting on the training given children in the first few years of school. It is time for an all out effort to tell our story to young minds. We have wasted decades.
