Stora Enso sets new circularity target in line with global framework
Print

Stora Enso has adopted a new target for 90 percent of the materials in its own operations to be circular by 2030, up from 79 percent in 2025.

The target replaces the previous goal for technically recyclable products and follows the new Global Circularity Protocol from the WBCSD and UNEP.

'Until now, there has been a lack of a common framework for circularity comparable to those existing for climate and greenhouse gas emissions. The Global Circularity Protocol creates much-needed consistency and transparency, supporting both Stora Enso's strategy and our customers' sustainability ambitions. We see this as an important first step in a broader shift where value chain collaboration becomes crucial to driving progress,' says Toby Croucher, Chief Sustainability Officer at Stora Enso.
