Södra Cell Mönsterås Pulp Mill Recovering From Fire
Print
Stockholm, Sweden, 21 September 2011 -- The Södra Cell Mönsterås pulp mill restarted production in early September following a stoppage caused by a major fire that broke out on 12 August. A number of provisional solutions have been introduced, with improvement by stages, to to gradually increase average production, and the mill is now operating at its target speed.

"The steady operation that has been achieved in a relatively short time has been implemented thanks to the enormous commitment of staff and all subcontractors taken on following the fire," said Carsten Wieger, site manager for Södra Cell Mönsterås.

As well as working as quickly as possible to introduce and improve provisional operating solutions, work is in progress to permanently replace everything that was destroyed in the fire.
