Firefighters responded to a call of a fire at Cheney Pulp and Paper in Franklin at around 6:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Upon arriving they found nobody suffering from injuries, and managed to extinguish the majority of the fire relatively quickly.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 7:51 a.m. to find a large explosion had occurred, with fire spreading throughout the east end of the building. Multiple agencies from nearby cities also responded to the incident.
