Pliant Corporation Continues Expansion of Food Packaging Film Business
Print
Schaumburg, Illinois, USA, 06 July 2006 -- /PRNewswire/ -- Pliant Corporation announced an expansion of its converting assets serving its Food Packaging Film business. These additional investments are:

* High-speed spooling equipment to support continued growth in food service and consumer-based cutter box formats. The new equipment will be capable of providing clients with roll footages from 50 linear feet up to 5000 with either standard serrated edge or slider cutter mechanisms.

* Expanded capacity for blown food wrap film for Pliant's international operations in Germany and Australia.

Randy Scott, vice president of Global Marketing, said "the continued international market demand for Pliant's product lines in both in-store and consumer market channels made this a smart investment decision for us. In addition to continued expansion in our traditional polyvinyl-based films, Pliant is also developing polyolefin-based alternatives as well as resins made from renewable resources for the future needs of our customers."

Pliant Corporation is a leading producer of value-added film and flexible packaging products for personal care, medical, food, industrial, and agricultural markets. The company operates 23 manufacturing and research and development facilities around the world, and employs approximately 2940 people.
