Pöyry Awarded EUR 1.6 Million Tall Oil Plant Contract in Sweden

Vantaa, Finland, 29 September 2006 -- Pöyry's Energy business group has been awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction contract for a tall oil plant by Iggesund Paperboard AB, which is a member of Holmen Group. The value of the contract is EUR 1.6 million and it will be executed over a period of 11 months.

The assignment comprises a 4.2 metric tons/hour crude tall oil plant with auxiliaries based on the HDS® (Hydro Dynamic Separation) technology, which is Pöyry Energy Oy's proprietary know-how. Similar equipment has already been installed in 18 modern pulp mills in Europe, Canada, and China. The plant has high yield, good availability, and low maintenance costs and it produces high-quality crude tall oil.

Iggesund Paperboard is a member of the Holmen Group and Europe's leading manufacturer of high-quality virgin fiber paperboard for use in the packaging and graphics sectors. Iggesunds Bruk in Sweden is one of the most advanced, fully integrated pulp and paperboard mills in the world. It employs 900 people and has a capacity of 300,000 metric tons/year of Invercote.
