Nippon Paper Industries Completes Construction

Tokyo, Japan 20 August 2012 -- Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Yoshio Haga) is pleased to announce the completion of construction with the aim of undertaking quality and operations measures for producing kraft paper at Kushiro Mill (Kushiro, Hokkaido), with a ceremony held to celebrate the completion of construction on August 22.
 
Construction began last fall to transfer the production of kraft paper from Fuji Mill (Fuji, Shizuoka) to Kushiro Mill in accordance with the plan to revitalize the paper business that was announced on August 3, 2011. With investment of around 2.4 billion yen, a range of construction work was undertaken, including the refurbishment of the DIP facilities, the establishment of facilities to respond to heavy-duty packages of kraft paper with a focus on quality, and the reinforcement of the finishing facilities. The Kushiro Mill now has the capacity to produce around 52,000 tons of kraft paper every year.
