Munksjo to Upgrade PM 6 at La Gere Paper Mill

La Gere, France 11 June 2014 -- Specialty paper manufacturer Munksjo will invest in a headbox upgrade at the La Gere release liner mill in France to improve product quality.

Munksjo has announced its plan to upgrade the paper machine PM 6 at the La Gere release liner mill in France. The company said it would replace the PM 6 headbox with state-of-art technology to enhance runnability and increase product performance. The machine upgrade is scheduled for December 2014.

La Gere paper mill in South-East-France is part of Munksjo’s Release Liner business area. The mill employs close to 180 people and has one paper machines with a capacity of some 95,000 tpy of supercalendered release papers for pressure sensitive self-adhesive labelstock, specialty tapes and industrial applications.

La Gere paper mill was part of Ahlstrom until 2013. The mill was then transacted to Munksjo in the Munksjö-Ahlstrom Label and Processing deal meant to create a leading specialty paper manufacturer in the world.
