Mohawk to Relaunch "Strathmore" Line of Papers
Print
Cohoes, New York, USA, 11 September 2006 -- /PRNewswire/ -- Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. announces the relaunch of Strathmore writing papers.

Since acquiring the Strathmore brand from International Paper in 2005, Mohawk has done extensive research into the business of writing papers. "Strathmore is a legendary brand that is highly regarded for its level of quality and prestige. Our research showed, however, that the product needed updating to meet the changing needs of business communicators. With an expanded new offering and significant technological updates, the new Strathmore Writing & Script line is equipped to meet the challenges of today's digital performance needs and environmental concerns," says Thomas D. O'Connor, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer.

Created more than a century ago, Strathmore is synonymous with elegant writing papers and has set the industry standard for corporate identity. Over the years, Strathmore papers were used by a wide variety of clients from U.S. Trust, to MTV and Abbott Labs. "Strathmore is an industry icon, and the updated product line will allow us to connect with today's graphic designers and their clients. The way we communicate is changing and in light of this, we believe what gets printed today has more impact and therefore adds value," says O'Connor.

Mohawk's new Strathmore Writing & Script is a comprehensive and versatile product portfolio that encapsulates the full range of business and personal applications. Applications include executive letterhead, stationery and envelopes, business cards, invitations and announcements, direct mail, pocket folders, report covers and annual reports. The new Strathmore portfolio has an expanded offering of premium writing, text and cover papers, new shades, new weights, and an elegant new finish. Included in the new portfolio are the new Strathmore Digital papers made with Mohawk's proprietary i-Tone(R) process for superior performance on today's high-end digital color production presses.

In response to the demands of today's corporate sustainability efforts, Strathmore Writing & Script is manufactured with windpower, and includes Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified 100% PCW shades, making it the perfect choice for environmentally progressive companies of all sizes.
