Print

Espoo, Finland 26 September 2013 -- Metsä Tissue, part of Metsä Group, is to invest in a paper machine upgrade at Raubach mill in Germany. In addition to higher product quality and increased capacity, the upgrade will improve the energy efficiency of tissue paper production.

The investment is part of Metsä Tissue’s energy efficiency improvement programme. “Between 2007 and 2012, we have reduced our energy use company-wide by 20 per cent. By 2020, our aim is to improve our energy efficiency by further 10 per cent,” says Christoph Zeiler, SVP, Tissue, Western Europe.

Toscotec has been chosen as the main supplier of the paper machine upgrade at Raubach mill. The project will be handled on a turnkey basis, including engineering, full installation, start-up and training. It is due to be completed by the end of 2013.
