Metro Decorative produces first fibers at Kashipur mill in India

Andritz has delivered a pressurized refining system to Metro Decorative Pvt. Ltd, India. The new line has now successfully produced its first fibers at the medium-density fiberboard production facility in Kashipur.

The pressurized refining system is equipped with a proven S1050 refiner with 3,300 kW installed power. It can produce 20 bdmt/h of high-quality fibers from wood chips. An efficient pre-steaming system contributes to high fiber quality and low electrical and thermal energy consumption. The scope of supply also included a 16" plug screw feeder for optimized dewatering before refining, a maintenance-friendly 42" discharger, and an innovative pressurized digester with counter flow and steam regulation system.
