Kruger Extends Machine Downtime at Wayagamack
Print
Montréal, Québec, Canada, 18 March 2010 --  Kruger Inc. today announced that it will extend the interruption of paper machine No. 3 at its Wayagamack mill in Trois-Rivières for a period of one month starting 31 March 2010. The company came to this decision due to ongoing weak market conditions that include the high value of the Canadian dollar and low demand for directory paper.

PM 3 was shut down on 31 December 2009, and was planned to restart on 31 March 2010. Production is now planned to resume on 01 May 2010.

Founded in 1904, Kruger Inc. is a major producer of publication papers, tissue, lumber and other wood products, corrugated cartons from recycled fibers, green and renewable energy, and wines and spirits. The company also is a leader in paper and paperboard recycling in North America. Kruger operates facilities in Alberta, British Columbia, Labrador, Ontario, Newfoundland, and Quebec in Canada, and in the United States, and has 9000 employees.
