Ilim Group to Invest in its Bratsk Plant

St. Petersburg, Russia 03 June 2013 -- Ilim Group, one of Russia’s leading pulp and paper producers, will launch a new line for the production of soft wood at the capacities of its Bratsk plant, according to the company’s spokesman Victor Dolgov.

The volume of investments in the project is estimated at USD$880 million. The launch of the new line will allow an increase of the annual volume of pulp production in Bratsk  to 1 million tons.

The launch of the new line is scheduled for June this year. According to Dolgov, the company are facing several problems during the implementation of the project, such as lack of highly skilled professionals.

According to him, the company was forced to attract workers from different regions of the country and also from abroad, particularly from China.
