Greenpeace: Reaction to Paper Excellence's Jackson Wijaya being summoned to House Committee
Print

In response to the summons for Jackson Wijaya to appear before the Standing Committee on Natural Resources, Shane Moffatt, Head of the Nature & Food campaign at Greenpeace Canada, said:

"The House Committee issuing a summons for Jackson Wijaya, Paper Excellence's sole owner, to testify before the Committee is a clear indication of the urgency of this matter to the Canadian public. In only a few weeks, almost 10,000 people have signed our petition calling for Mr. Wijaya to finally testify in person, especially about his connections to the Sinar Mas / Asia Pulp & Paper empire, a globally notorious rainforest destroyer. With a crisis in our forests, the public deserves to know who really is profiting from logging across the country."
