In this issue of Disconnected Comparisons, we evaluate Packaging Corporation of America (PKG) and UPM-Kymmene Corporation (UPMKY).

The attached graph indexes these companies’ stock values and the PM40 to their 04 January 2002 values. A USD 100 investment in PKG on that date would have been worth USD 100.60 on 10 October 2008; a USD 100 investment in UPMKY on 04 January 2002 would have been worth USD 68.84 on 10 October 2008; and a USD 100 investment in an equal weight of the PM40 on 04 January 2002 would have been worth USD 84.30 on 10 October 2008.
