In this issue of Disconnected Comparisons, we evaluate Aracruz Celulose (ARA) and International Paper Company (IP).

The attached graph indexes these companies’ stock values and the PM40 to their 04 January 2002 values. A USD 100 investment in ARA on that date would have been worth USD 364.55 on 23 November 2007; a USD 100 investment in IP on 04 January 2002 would have been worth USD 78.42 on 23 November 2007; and a USD 100 investment in an equal weight of the PM40 on 04 January 2002 would have been worth USD 123.54 on 23 November 2007.
