Czech Government to Sell Slovenia's Newsprint Manufacturer

Krsko, Slovenia 19 February 2015 -- Czech ministry of finance readies the divestment of its majority stake in paper manufacturer Vipap Videm.

The Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic is preparing the sale of Slovenia's printing, writing and packaging paper manufacturer Vipap Videm. The ministry has published a tender to appoint legal and financial advisers for the sale and is now working to prepare the terms and conditions of the transaction, a spokesperson explained.

Vipap is located in Krsko, eastern Slovenia. The company runs three paper machines with a total production capacity of above 200,000 tpy of newsprint, graphic and packaging papers. In 2013, the company produced 195,000 t of which 140,000 t standard and improved newsprint.

Czech ministry of finance holds a 96.5% stake in Vipap.
