Neenah, Wisconsin, USA, 31 January 2008 --(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE: BMS) announced today that its board of directors has approved a 5% increase in the quarterly cash dividend, increasing it to 22 cents per share compared to the previous quarterly dividend of 21 cent per share.

The cash dividend is payable on 03 March 2008, to shareholders of record on at the close of business on 15 February 2008. This marks the 25th consecutive year that the company has increased its dividend payment. Bemis has been paying an annual dividend on its stock since 1922.

"Our dividend program is an important part of our shareholders' total return on their investment in Bemis Company," said Jeff Curler, Bemis Company's chairman and chief executive officer. "This healthy dividend increase reflects the confidence of our board of directors in our ability to continue to generate strong cash flow into the future and achieve our long-term earnings per share growth targets."
