I was pleased to see your expressions of skepticism on the overrated "biorefinery" and "ethanol" opportunities for the industry.

Looking at the situation as an engineer, I have difficulty seeing a reason to invest capital in complex systems to make ethanol, diesel, or any other fuel from wood while almost all North American mills are still buying oil, coal, or gas. As long as they are doing this, it will make more sense to use any available organic waste from wood as fuel to replace the purchase fossil fuels.
