MEXICO (News release) -- Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) has announced three new expanded partnerships across Mexico and the launch of a new label paper. Strategic partner Papelera Kino, full-service printing and packaging manufacturer Krishka/Pap Tech, and strategic converting partner Promasa will each expand relationships with APP to offer a greater variety of packaging products in Mexico. Furthermore, APP will launch its new Premium Arcadia label-based paper for PSA label facestock and wet glue labels.
Papelera Kino will offer APP's biodegradable foopak Bio Nature Cups across its 20 retail outlets by the end of the year. The foopak Bio Natura Cup for take-away hot and cold liquids uses a biodegradable water-based coating, a sustainable alternative to petroleum-based coatings, that can be easily composted or recycled for repulping without the need for additional treatment. Through testing by the Isega Institute, APP maintains scientific evidence that the stock can completely break down and return to nature by decomposing in a matter of 12 weeks.
Meanwhile, Krishka/Pap Tech is the latest converter in Latin America to offer APP's foopak Bio Container for take-away quick service food products. Like the Bio Natura Cup, the Bio Container coated board utilizes the same biodegradable water-based coating, making the product easy to compost without sacrificing strength or quality.
Graphic arts industry converter Promasa is now offering just-in-time custom converting of APP's Sinarvanda folding box board. The operation, based in Mexico City, will convert products for retail packaging.
APP's Acadia 2000 is a premium one-side coated label with superior bulk and excellent smooth surface that handles tackiness of gold and silver ink density with multiple print applications of embossing and foil stamping in a row. The wet strength label resists disintegration and rupture when exposed to water or other moisture build up, so that it is excellent for replacing the plastic type label. Arcadia 2000 delivers high quality printing and performance. The label is perfect for soft drinks, juice, coffee, beer, wine and other cold liquid food packaging, where it can withstand varied temperatures and humidity.
All pulp and fiber used in the making of APP's paper products are certified by PEFC, the world's leading forest certification organization. Only products that utilize sustainable procurement of wood and paper-based goods are awarded this certification.
