Comment Print

Altri will install a new lime kiln with a capacity of 250 tons per day of burned lime and upgrade the fiberline at its Biotek pulp mill in Vila Velha de Ródão, Portugal.

The order includes a complete white liquor plant on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis. The scope of supply comprises the new lime kiln, which is designed for a future capacity upgrade, a new lime mud filter with auxiliary equipment, and an upgrade of the green liquor clarifier. The project also covers process modifications for the fiberline, including new equipment and engineering.

The new equipment will support the mill's ongoing production of cellulosic fibers for various types of paper and dissolving pulp used in textile manufacturing.

The start-up of the new systems is scheduled for the Q3 2026.

Altri operates three pulp mills in Portugal.
