Acme Corrugated Box to install quality control system at Pennsylvania plant
Comment Print

Acme Corrugated Box Co., Inc. is adding a Valmet IQ Quality Control System for its corrugator at its facility in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, to enhance board quality and production efficiency. The system is scheduled to start up in the Q2 2026, according to the technology supplier Valmet.

The delivery includes Valmet IQ Warp Measurement, Valmet IQ Moisturizer, Valmet IQ Multipoint Moisture, and microwave moisture measurement, integrated with automatic closed-loop controls. The system combines online moisture, temperature, and warp measurements to control all corrugated board types, reducing sheet warping and improving bonding. The technology also incorporates an interface to the facility's existing corrugator heating elements, along with proven moisture measurement technologies and an automatic moisturizing solution.

The quality control system will manage combined paper temperature, moisture balance, total moisture, and flatness control to drive higher overall converting performance. The equipment is intended to support stable production, consistent product quality, and reduced operator workload.

Acme Corrugated Box Co., Inc. is a family-owned corrugated packaging manufacturer based in Hatboro, Pennsylvania.

Valmet is a global technology supplier to process industries.
