Print
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 02 April 2009 -- (Marketwire) -- West Fraser (TSX:WFT) today announced additional curtailments of lumber production at its U.S. operations. Production will be curtailed for two weeks, beginning 06 April 2009, at the company's mills located at Leola, Arkansas, and Whitehouse, Florida. The company's mill at Maplesville, Alabama, will also be curtailed for two weeks beginning 20 April 2009. These temporary curtailments are in addition to indefinite curtailments announced previously at the company's facilities in McDavid, Florida; Citronelle, Alabama; and Folkston, Georgia. These curtailments are in response to continued weak lumber markets in the United States.

West Fraser is an integrated wood products company producing lumber, LVL, MDF, plywood, pulp, linerboard, kraft paper, and newsprint. West Fraser shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol "WFT."
