Voith to Supply Control Technology to Yueyang Paper

Heidenheim, Germany, 15 December 2008 -- Yueyang Paper, one of the 10 largest paper and cardboard manufacturers in China, has contracted with Voith to supply the quality control system for two Voith paper machines it ordered at the beginning of 2008.

The to paper machines, PM 9 and PM 10, are scheduled for commissioning at the end of 2009. The machines are expected to each produce 200,000 tons of paper annually. Each machine is fitted with two OnQ scanners, which are equipped with sensors for basis weight, moisture, thickness, and total ash content. Voith quality control technology will help Yueyang to improve upon the guarantees made on its paper machines, a move considered by customers to be a key advantage.

Yueyang Paper is part of the Tiger Forest & Paper Group, which has 20 locations in China. After the start-up of PM 9 and PM 10, the capacity of the group will be 1,350,000 tons per year.
