The Final Word by Jim Thompson
Print
I have been a cheerleader of this industry for decades. This stems from personal experience—-I have made a good living in the pulp and paper industry and have seen many others do so, too. In our times of turmoil, many are quick to pronounce our industry dead, but they are wrong. Modern human needs, as I outlined in this issue’s opening editorial, demand paper goods. We may have our ups and downs as we adjust to the finer points of that demand, but the industry, as a whole, remains and will continue to remain important to the human experience.
