Stora Enso is Investing at its Fors Mill
Print

Helsinki, Finland 22 August 2014 -- Stora Enso is investing 75 million dollars to strengthen its product development at its Fors Mill, Sweden. The Fors mill will be the first in Stora Enso to produce mechanical pulp based on birch tree.

"We are very pleased to have received this investment. It is another step in our long-term strategy for Fors' future. The investment shows that Stora Enso has confidence in its Fors Mill, "said Ronny Sjöberg, Director Construction and Investments, Stora Enso Fors Mill.

The largest part of the investment is the so-called "Birch CTMP".

"The main benefits of birch is that the quality and printability of the carton is significantly improved as the surface of the carton will be smoother and whiter. With this investment we can produce new products and improve existing ones. This will allow us to consolidate our position as the leading producer of cardboard in the highest quality segments," said Ronny Sjöberg.
