Plum Creek Named to Dow Jones Sustainability World Index

Seattle, Washington, USA, 06 October 2008 -- Plum Creek Timber Co. Inc. (NYSE: PCL) today announced that Dow Jones has named the company to its Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World). The DJSI World comprises more than 300 of the leading sustainability companies out of the biggest 2500 companies worldwide. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes are the first global indexes tracking the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide.

The DSJI World captures the top 10% of companies based on long-term economic, environmental, and social criteria. The underlying research evaluates corporations based on a variety of criteria including climate change strategies, energy consumption, human resources development, knowledge management, stakeholder relations, and corporate governance.
