Pöyry to Design Portucel's New PM 4
Comment Print
Vantaa, Finland, 12 October 2007 -- Pöyry has been selected as main engineering consultant for Portucel's new paper mill project in Portugal. The new paper mill will be built at Portucel's existing pulp and paper mill site in Setubal. The assignment comprises complete planning services and has a value of about EUR 10 million. It will be included in the order stock for the third quarter.

The new paper mill project will start immediately. Commercial production is scheduled to begin by the third quarter of 2009. The paper machine will be designed to produce about 500,000 tons/year of office papers. After this investment the pulp mill in Setubal will be fully integrated with the paper production.

This assignment is a continuation of Pöyry's good relationship with the Portucel Soporcel Group, for whom two paper machine projects were recently carried out at the Figueira mill.

Pöyry is a global consulting and engineering firm focusing on the energy, forest industry and infrastructure and environment sectors. Pöyry's net sales in 2006 amounted to about EUR 620 million and it employs 7000 experts.
