Metso Foundries Jyväskylä Schedules Lay-offs

Helsinki, Finland, 24 April 2009 -- Metso Foundries Jyväskylä, Inc. in Finland has concluded employee negotiations on temporary lay-offs of personnel on 24 April 2009. The lay-offs result from a reduction in the amount of work.

The temporary lay-offs will affect almost all personnel, altogether approximately 270 people. The duration of the lay-offs will vary, depending on the workload, from some weeks to longer periods.

The lay-offs will begin in May and continue for the time being.
