Kruger to Interrupt Production at Trois-Rivières Mill
Print
Montréal, Québec, Canada, 27 November 2009 – Kruger Inc. today announced that it will interrupt production on paper machine number 3 at its Wayagamack mill in Trois-Rivières for a period of two months starting 23 December 2009. The company came to this decision because of the high value of the Canadian dollar and because of the weak demand for directory paper.

This temporary curtailment will affect approximately 100 employees. The mill plans to restart the machine on 23 February 2010.

Founded in 1904, Kruger Inc. is a major producer of publication papers, tissue, lumber, and other wood products; corrugated cartons from recycled fibers; green and renewable energy; and wines and spirits. The company also is a leader in paper and paperboard recycling in North America. Kruger operates facilities in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Newfoundland, and Labrador; in the United States; and the United Kingdom; and has 9000 employees.
