Georgia-Pacific Acquires Five International Paper Wood Products Facilities

Atlanta, Georgia, USA, 02 April 02 2007 -- Georgia-Pacific LLC today announced that Georgia-Pacific Wood Products South LLC has completed the purchase of five wood products sites from International Paper. The acquisition totaled approximately USD 237 million, including working capital.

"These are value-added facilities that fit strategically with our current wood products operations and we're very excited to have them in the Georgia-Pacific family," said Mike Rehwinkel, president of Georgia-Pacific's wood products business. "We're growing, and these facilities allow us to expand our geographic footprint into the important Southwest/Midwest area, further enhancing our ability to serve key customers in valuable sectors of our business. These are cost-competitive, solid operations."

The new Georgia-Pacific sites are plywood and lumber complexes at Camden, Texas; Springhill, Louisiana; and Gurdon, Arkansas; a plywood mill at Corrigan, Texas; and an engineered lumber plant at Thorsby, Alabama. Georgia-Pacific will gain an additional 2400 employees from these facilities.
