Comment Print

Graz, Austria, 22 October 2008 -- International technology group Andritz received an order from Kartonsan Karton, Izmit, Turkey, to rebuild their board machine (BM1). The machine produces white-lined chipboard ranging between 200 g/m2 and 450 g/m2. It has a working width of 2200 mm and will have a maximum design speed of 250 m/min after the upgrade. Start-up and commissioning are planned for the third quarter of 2009.

The Andritz delivery will include a new suction former with CD profile dilution control, upgrading the eight existing suction formers, a new PrimePress X shoe press, a rebuild of the dryer section, and a new rope tail threading system. The aims of the upgrade are to increase capacity from 50,000 to 75,000 tons per year and to improve board quality.

Part of the Andritz delivery is a capacity increase of the mixed wastepaper stock preparation line from 70 to 150 tons per day, and a rebuild of the approach flow and under-machine pulper broke system.
