Wisconsin board votes against proposed Georgia-Pacific warehouse

TOWN OF LAWRENCE, Wisconsin (From news reports) -- The Lawrence planning and zoning board voted against a proposed Georgia-Pacific warehouse in the town at its meeting Wednesday evening.

The board voted 3-2 against the proposal.

Georgia-Pacific wants to build a new place to store paper products from its Green Bay mill.

The plan would generate over $600,000 in tax revenue.

Several residents are concerned because the location for the warehouse is about a mile and a half from Hemlock Creek Elementary School.

The proposal will still go before the full town board for a final decision.
