Stora Enso Oyj once again highly ranked by CDP for supplier engagement on climate

FINLAND (News release) -- Stora Enso has been named by CDP, for the second consecutive year, as a Supplier Engagement Leader on climate change.

The CDP Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) was published today, providing a rating for how effectively companies are engaging their suppliers on climate change. The Leader status was given to eight percent of the companies based on their 2020 information.

"For us, it is increasingly important to collaborate with our suppliers to combat climate change. While some suppliers are very advanced in their climate work, others are only getting started. We offer emissions-related e-learning training, for example, to those suppliers that are at the beginning of their journey and we will continue to engage with all our suppliers on climate change issues. In October 2021, we announced our new sustainability goals. In our climate goals, we have now included a strong emphasis on reducing indirect (scope 3) emissions from our value chain", says Annette Stube, Executive Vice President of Sustainability, Stora Enso.

CDP is a non-profit organization that runs a global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to manage their environmental impacts. For the rating, CDP assesses performance on supplier engagement using a company's response to selected questions on governance, targets, scope 3 emissions, and value chain engagement in the CDP climate change questionnaire.
