Poyry Awarded Site Management in Uruguay


Helsinki, Finland, 07 June 2006 -- Pöyry's Forest Industry business group has been awarded a contract by Kemira Uruguay S.A. to provide site management services for the chemical plants to be built in connection with Botnia's pulp mill in Uruguay. The value of the contract is more than EUR 2 million.

Kemira will invest about EUR 80 million in the chemical plants, which will supply bleaching chemicals for Botnia's new pulp mill. The scope of Pöyry's contract includes site management and supervision, commissioning, and start-up services. Pöyry's site team in Uruguay will be mobilized in August 2006 and the services are expected to be completed by July 2007.

The contract is a continuation of the ongoing project management and engineering services contract between Kemira Uruguay S.A. and Pöyry. It is in line with Pöyry's strategy to sell complete project services, including site management and supervision services.
