PCA worker air lifted after getting hand stuck in machine


PENNSYLVANIA (From news reports) -- A man was airlifted from a packing supply factory after fire crews freed him when his hand became stuck under a roller in a machine Thursday, March 11, in Collegeville.

Firefighters responded to Packaging Corporation Of America in Collegeville around 9:40 a.m., where they remained for nearly two hours freeing the man safely, Perkiomen Fire spokesman Ted Hodgins said.

The man was airlifted by Jefferson University Hospitals in unknown condition.

The Perkiomen Township Fire Company was assisted by Collegeville Fire Company, Trappe Fire Company No. 1, Skippack Fire Company, Limerick Fire Department, Lower Providence Fire Department, Lower Frederick Fire Company, UPT Fire & Emergency Services (Upper Providence Township), Royersford Fire Department, Worcester Volunteer Fire Department, Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company and the Montgomery County DPS US&R team.
