Norske Skog to Gradually Resume Production as Energy Markets Stabilize

AUSTRIA (News release) -- Norwegian pulp-and-paper company Norske Skog ASA said that its Bruck paper mill in Austria will gradually resume production Monday, March 21, following its March 9 decision to introduce temporary downtime as unprecedented energy prices made operations unsustainable.

"Energy markets have stabilized to some extent and commercial terms reflecting the current energy situation have been entered into with customers," it said.

The mill's new energy boiler is progressing well with its commissioning phase and will reduce the mill's gas consumption and improve its energy supply, it said.
