No injuries reported in Dunn Paper fire


PORT HURON, Mich. (From news reports) -- Fire crews responded to a machinery fire inside the Dunn Paper mill in Port Huron Thursday afternoon, Feb. 17.

According to the Port Huron Fire Department, the fire broke out in a paper machine shortly before 2 p.m.

Captain Nathan Johnston said the fire was quickly put out by employees at Dunn Paper with fire departments from other neighboring departments assisting.

There were no injures or structural damage.

The fire marked the first time in which a newly signed mutual aid agreement between Marysville, Port Huron Township, and Fort Gratiot Township was executed.
