Helsinki, Finland, 14 October 2008 -- Metso Paper will start personnel discussions regarding the temporary lay-off of personnel at the Tampere roll factory. These lay-offs result from a temporary reduction in the amount of work.

The members of staff to be laid off, and the duration and timing of these lay-offs will depend on the workload of each department. The lay-offs will commence in November, at the earliest.

Tampere roll factory has 84 employees.
