Kruger adding 27 jobs, equipment to make facial tissue in Tennessee

TENNESSEE (From news reports) -- The Memphis tissue-making facility, K.T.G (USA), will add 27 jobs and invest more than $20 million in equipment to produce facial tissues, its parent company announced.

The Canadian-based Kruger Products announced the installation of new equipment - a "facial converting line" - is expected to be complete by the first three months of 2022.

"This new converting line will have the latest technology and flexibility to produce a wide range of product formats for our strategic private label customers and KPLP's White Cloud brand," said Gordon Goss, Kruger's senior vice president and general manager for the U.S. and Mexico consumer business.

"This new investment is part of our broader focus on expanding our business in the U.S. and to offering high quality tissue products to our customers," he said in a release.

Kruger Products makes tissue products for household, industrial and commercial use.

The company operates eight facilities in North America.

The one at 400 Mahannah Ave. is one of the largest manufacturing facilities in Memphis. As of last spring, about 500 people worked there.
