Ilim Group First Quarter Pulp and Paper Production


St. Petersburg, Russia, 16 May 2012 -- During January--March 2012, Ilim Group’s mills in northwest Russia and in Siberia manufactured 636,000 tons of pulp and paper products. The company maintains steady performance against the similar period of the previous year.

Production included 405,000 tons of market pulp, which is a 1.5% increase compared to the first three months of 2011.

The output of market board in the first quarter was 172,500 tons, which was 7% less than in the previous period. Paper volumes increased 15%, approximating 59,000 tons. This includes 22,000 tons of sack paper, 30,000 tons of offset paper, and 7000 tons of wallpaper.

Pulp cooking has increased by 1%, totaling 685,000 tons.

OAO Ilim Gofra, the corrugated box business of Ilim Group in the Leningrad Oblast, manufactured 29.4 million square meters of corrugated board and boxes. The output increase amounts to 4%.
