ICT Considering Third Tissue Machine

Lucca, Italy 17 January 2014 -- Industrie Cartarie Tronchetti (ICT) might add new capacities to its Kostrzyn plant in Poland. The company is examining different investment options including a 70,000 tpy tissue machine for the Polish site.

Italian hygiene paper manufacturer Industrie Cartarie Tronchetti (ICT) is considering installing a new tissue machine with a capacity of 70,000 tpy at its Kostrzyn plant in Poland. The company said it was currently examining several investment options in different countries. Should the decision fall on Poland, the new machine might start operating in the third quarter of 2015, it added.

In addition to a new tissue machine, ICT would also add converting capacities to the site and increase the number of employees. ICT Poland already operates two tissue machines and several converting lines at the Kostrzyn plant which is located near the German border, around 90km east of Berlin. The site has a combined capacity of around 140,000 tpy and just under 400 employees.

ICT is headquartered in Lucca, Italy. The group operates four mills in Italy as well as one mill in France, Spain and Poland, respectively. It produces tissue products with a total capacity of around 470,000 t and employs approximately 1,300 people.
