Fire at Pratt facility
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The FDNY was called to a paper-recycling facility in Travis early Monday morning (Aug. 19) for a report of a fire on the first floor. A dozen units and 60 firefighters battled smoke and flames at Pratt Industry Paper Mills, located at 4435 Victory Blvd., according to an FDNY spokeswoman.
Crews responded at about 1:25 a.m., and placed the scene under control about an hour later.
