Disconnected Comparisons


In this issue of Disconnected Comparisons, we evaluate Reed Elsevier plc (RUK) and Votorantim Celulose e Papel SA (VCP). The attached graph indexes these companies’ stock values and the PM40 to their 04 January 2002 values. A USD 100 investment in RUK on that date would have been worth USD 98.57 on 07 November 2008; a USD 100 investment in VCP on 04 January 2002 would have been worth USD 107.50 on 07 November 2008; and a USD 100 investment in an equal weight of the PM40 on 04 January 2002 would have been worth USD 80.67 on 07 November 2008.
